I had no idea about principles of animation, concepts and technics to make animation realistic. As a self taught 2D animator I have discovered my own ways. Now, it is time to go back to school.

Above video is workshop of " walk cycle" which I did recently. It is a prototype, still much work to be done to polish it. But, I tried all technics, followed the instructions given by my supervisor. Yes I haven't use plugin here like twin machine. But it would be a good idea to use it for further projects to make it more dynamic.

I have worked on 2D animation before but just small duration videos for online marketing, intros and presentation. Now if I look at them I can clearly see all mistakes I have made, which wasn't visible at that time. Some knowledge we gain through practice and experience at that higher level. I have added some of previous walk animation I have done in the past and I literally laugh.

I had no idea about principles of animation or any technics to make it realistic. As a self taught 2D animator I have discovered my own way to make any animation and silly me, I used to get excited about it. LOL. Finally, I got opportunity to learn new concepts, techniques, theories to make a realistic walk animation. Some knowledge we gain through practice and experience at that higher level.

Camel's walk cycle above, I have done in the past. I animated this one with referencing. I discovered the way but I never knew that actually there will be a workshop "animating with referencing videos".

12 Principles of animation, concepts, right techniques and strategies are really important to create a realistic walk cycle. More to be discovered yet. I will keep on updating new videos soon. keep visiting my site for more updates.
