For this exercise I used Studio Library, it can save time and effort. I must say its a great feature in Maya.
For this exercise I have used a giant Rhino rig. Run cycle is similar to walk cycle. But in Run cycle, at some point both feet won’t be in contact with the ground because the character is going at a higher speed and it will jump of the ground.

First, I made one contact pose and using studio library I saved that pose to use it for further procedure.
I downloaded the studio library plug-in and added it into Maya and I created a folder called “Rhino_rig” where I saved my poses.
With this library I can create other key poses easily. We can select the key frames where we need to create new key poses, then we can select the pose from studio library and apply it to the key frames. Even we can mirror the pose if required. It’s a time saving process.

The next step is polishing and fixing the curves using a new tool called “Editable Motion Trail”. It helps you evaluate the line of motion and fix the animation to make it more even. The smoother the curves are the better the animation is going to flow.

Finally, polishing the curves was a time taking process but patience is the key and we can get a smoother, high-quality animation.
