Wix is the most popular blogsite and one of the top10 in the world according to one survey with 7,499 reviews and rated Excellent with 9.8 rating.

I think that’s a puzzle we must solve according to our own requirements and technical ability. Because there are more than 1000s blogsites. Each has their own features, templates based on their research, reviews and user experience data. Every blog site updates their features to improve the user journey.

If you search on internet and research as I did before and adopted this platform for my blogsite which is wix.com.

I Liked it because

1. Its free

2. Great designer templates

3. Great functionality

4. Easy to edit and publish

5. Easy to edit mobile version too.

And it is one of the top10 blogsite so far and at the top according to one survey.

To give an idea, I have added one screenshot above, might help.

But honestly, it depends on requirements and comfort level of an individual. Some websites provide you templates which have more advance features which emphasis on artistic design, look & feel of blog and some features give you advance functionality and some give you incredible user journey like posting comments, asking question etc.

Recently I did one survey about the blogsite through LinkedIn but people are not very interested on posting their point of view regarding this. If still you like to give any suggestion you can click on the link below and please share your experience, it might help many of us.

My survey on LinkedIn

My experience with the WIX blog

Wix is the most popular blogsite and one of the top10 in the world according to one survey with 7,499 reviews and rated Excellent with 9.8 rating.

I have created this blog to showcase my work, the journey, research and the progress I am making in terms of my course, the workshops, learning new application etc. My aim is taking feedback from classmates, supervisor and other visitors of my blogsite and make improvement based upon their evaluation.

I was looking for a platform where I have templates available which has advance design and functionality both and I got it in Wix. It gives incredible personalized features which is easy to edit and publish, that’s it and I am happy about my blog.

Some nice feature about WIX

1. Wix is a free website builder that can be totally managed from the front-end

2. It has free hosting included

3. The design is very intuitive and modern

4. can be used by both beginners and advanced

5. You can add multiple elements to your pages, from multimedia widgets to backgrounds, menus, typography, forms, video boxes etc

Missing thread

Yes, there is always a missing thread as nothing is perfect in this world. The more high-quality design and features means more complexity and huge file size. So sometimes I get issues like taking more time to upload files, it takes more time to get refresh and also sometimes application hangs and I lost all updates and then I give up and finally the blog is published next day. LOL

Specifically, a major issue which I faced is users like the post but not posting any comment and I am not getting any feedback because they are forced to register with my blog to post comments. Its not a problem because login feature gives me privacy and safety and I can allow specific potential users. But at the same time, I was missing valuable feedback from my users and there is not proper communication channel.

Finally, I incorporated and enabled another feature now which allows user login as a guest. I hope now it will be more comfortable and I must get some valuable feedback too. 😊

But I think that happens with every blog site on some point of time as we are dependent on the app which has many technical limitations too. And then I miss the paper-based articles and the system where we used to have surprise tests and exams and used to get feed back and marks on paper in front of whole class. 😊

That's some in-depth analysis on wix. There are other platforms like WordPress which are equally flexible but lately Wix has outpaced in terms of usability. Thanks for this insight though.

Hi Shruti - Richard again. I think you’ve given some good reasons for sticking with Wix (with some research conducted to support them), and indeed, it is nice not having to sign in to write a comment, so good job sorting that out. Perhaps you could have mentioned searchability/exposure though. How will people see your work via Wix? Do you plan to connect this post to LinkedIn, as you’ve done in the past?
